A conundrum
So Christie Golden says that no civilians were harmed in the bombing of Theramore (my brother, who played the pre-Mists of Pandaria quests, disagrees with her: I’m inclined to trust him on this, as my enthusiasm for MoP was at an all-time low).
But this bit of historical revisionism (!) presents a conundrum. Obviously it was done in order to excuse one of Garrosh’s most morally reprehensible actions. But if it was SO morally reprehensible that it demanded a revision, why write out the civilian deaths? And if it was NOT morally reprehensible because no civilians died, why blame Thrall and Baine for the bombing at all?
This smacks of partisanship: where any negative action done is good if “the right people” are doing it, and once that is brought into question, personal responsibility is thrown out the window in order to blame the previous administration for the choices and mistakes of the current one.
