So while Vikingbard’s following is still small, our music has managed to reach people all across the globe. Not merely here at home in the US, but in Canada, South America, and Europe (fun fact, the countries where our music has reached in Europe are countries where Norsemen either lived – like Sweden and Iceland – or visited, such as Greece and England)!
So stoked for this! Thank you, Vikingbard fans, the Bardings, for spreading our music far beyond my own means. And for any metal-heads reading this who haven’t heard of Vikingbard, go check out the debut album Return to Valhalla, available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and Google Play.
Stay metal, my friends, and i’ll see thee in Valhalla
“Winter Thrice” by Borknagar
The Eternal Dark Forest, where secrets dwell beneath the shadows of the evergreen trees. Who knows what some wandering hero may find within these glades
Like Rod Stewart said, it has been a long road getting here, but now here we are! The journey that began seven years ago with the founding of Vikingbard, and that became realized in 2016, is now taking its first steps into a larger world. Yes, that’s right, music-lovers, Vikingbard’s debut album Return to Valhalla is now available to the public!
Head on over to iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and Google Play and check out our debut album, rife with grim, frost-bitten, epic, and Nordic-influenced metal.
For later
Lightning strikes I hear the thunder roar Black crow cries I am afraid no more
Hammer of the Gods, protect my path On this warrior’s trail to great hall up high All my enemies shall fear my wrath Wait for me, Odin, as I go forth now to die
Light of the North Star, upon me shine Luminate my path to the great hall Blood of North-Men, in these veins of mine Glory and homeland, for you I’ll spill it all
Black Wings Over Midgard Tell me that my path is sure Odin, lord of Asgard Your hall my home assured
Well, here we are! Eight years since the journey began, and look how far we’ve come! From doom and gloom over a dead laptop and hours of lost music to one step away from releasing a debut album!
Yes, that’s right: Return to Valhalla will soon be released.
Until then, I would like to direct your attention to the following links:
The sound of the groaning frost
Enforce the waves of blinding winters
Days of reaping, the nights of aghast
Seasons aligned, under the wintry sign
Sign…under the wintry sign
The groaning, moaning sound of this frost
A blinding eternal blizzard
Seasons aligned and now under the sign
Of crisp eternal winter
Nature…eternal winter…
I’ve wandered the skies
Throughout the starry neck of nowhere
I’ve swarmed the horizon
Throughout eternal fields of everywhere
Time and time again
From shore to shore, star to star
Deep bloodlines of the earth as seen from afar
Upon the ground of rumbling ruins
History shattered, moments withering
Raving forces of the inevitable
Nature…
I’ve wandered the skies
Throughout the starry neck of nowhere!
I’ve swarmed the horizon
Throughout eternal fields of everywhere
Time and time again
From shore to shore, star to star
Deep bloodlines of the earth as seen from afar
Nature, cast of the future
Upon the ground of rumbling ruins
History shattered, moments withering
Raving forces of the inevitable
Reigning union of nature!
The regaining cast of the future
From shore to shore, from star to star
The deep bloodlines of the earth as seen from afar
Horizons that hosts no scenery
Starless, unending skies
Wakes the beastly void
Winter Thrice
Horizons that hosts no scenery
Starless, unending skies
And wakes the beastly void
Starless, unending skies
The dance of stardust stills
Drapes the mountains
Winter Thrice
