Vikingbard – Return to Valhalla – 2017 (Full Album)

A Welcome Surprise from one of my favorite Viking Metal bands

I am chanting a Rune Song
Carved spell on a moon rock
On our proud great vast land
You were gathered at night where we attacked
My chant, goes relentless
Moon’s shining in blood red
Your souls has escaped
Sky stallions are carrying the brave
I see you scattered to the ground, no wounds on your back
You died where you stand, by the cross, by the axe
Defending your folk, sworn faith to the gods
That you shall find again on Ragnarok’s day
Stay put on your sword and fight on, by the gods
My arms holds your blood, on winter’s cruel cold
Listen to the Rune Song and fear not Midgard’s giants’ size
My chanting is magic that calls you all again to…rise!
Oh, remember that time is thinner than ice
The bold and the brave from death shall escape
All Father knows when our battle will end
We all have been summoned on this final glorious day
Now stand next to me
Gather your swords, gather your shields
Get prepared till that day
When All Father shall prevail

If there was anything inherently wrong with the Wonder Woman movie, it was part of WW’s character (or lack thereof). Such as the irony of “spreading love” by killing more people than Superman, or the fact that Diana has no character arc or growth. In MoS and BvS, Superman goes from alien god to dead. In BvS, Batman goes from “i hate superman” to “maybe you don’t deserve to die.” But Diana is the same person at the end of the film that she was at the beginning. Also, what peril was she ever in? I think we saw her get scratched once during the beach landing scene, but that quickly healed. So how do any of the enemies she faces, even Ares, pose any kind of threat to someone with no weaknesses? (you know, like batman)

This next album, Act I – A Hero is Born, is almost done! All i need are guest vocals for the song “The White Rider.” The part of the Valkyrie, whose part the guest vocalist will sing, is too important to the overall story to be written out, and my voice is too deep to be altered artificially (maybe if the kids from South Park were appearing, then i could do the vocals myself: as it is, i need a real woman, not Stan Marsh!)
Requirements: the vocalist should be a soprano who can easily sing an F major scale from F4 to F5. As i am unable to write music electronically or send it via email, the vocalist needs to be able to sing to the melody by ear.
Aside from the third verse, there is a speaking interlude in which the Valkyrie narrates a good-sized bit of verse that tells part of the story. No accent is preferred, though a European or Nordic accent would lend authenticity to the role.
Please do not respond to this message unless you are interested in the part and willing to commit to recording vocals. If you are interested, send me a personal message in my inbox and we will discuss further.
this was one of the first songs i ever made back in 2010. it was meant to capture the droning, medieval feeling of Black Sabbath’s “Embryo” from the Master of Reality album. now, seven years later, it has been re-recorded and published for all the world to enjoy
