Idiots on this site: omg, like, Jesus was such a bro. He didn’t, like, slut-shame anyone. It says so in the Bible (which I don’t even believe except when I want to): hashtag canon Jesus is better than fanon Jesus

God: -points to Ezekiel 16- begone, thot!

You’re still not listening to me- movies/tv shows don’t have an impact on my faith b/c I know they’re fictional- this goes for all movies, PG to R. Just b/c I like a movie that portrays certain things, doesn’t mean I participate in those things. I’m not being transformed into the world’s likeness by watching these movies. Both Kingsman: Secret Service &Stephen King’s It were rated r, but they were also about good v evil-not every rated r movie is trying to sell sin- that’s a strawman fallacy

john15-10:

It sounds like you’re trying so hard to justify this after I’ve really explained why it’s wrong.

Why not surrender it to God?

There are still lots of good entertainment that isn’t sinful

Funny; the rationale that anon is using to defend movies is the exact opposite of what people level against the Bible

I’m a follower of Christ. I know that Jesus died for me. So I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make there

my–darling–dear:

If you’re a follower of Christ then seek out His word without bringing social or personal baggage into the scriptures. Let it tell you how to live and what it says, not telling it what it says. The word doesn’t change with culture im afraid, and we as humans often get it wrong because we misunderstand the words. I’ve done that! We want the Bible to be ok with a lifestyle we support, when most of the time it’s something the world is pressing you to demand. And it tells you that if God doesn’t give you what you want, he’s evil. God doesn’t give us what we want because he knows what is best for us, and that to me is the biggest freedom of the gospel.
