So basically The Last Jedi is liberal propaganda. That’s pretty obvious. That’s not necessarily why it’s a bad film; it’s a bad film because it’s tone deaf, disjointed, and disrespectful of both the original Star Wars trilogy and The Force Awakens. But even as liberal propaganda, it falls short.
The First Order is supposed to represent conservatives, and yet they’re laughably incompetent. Why do liberals think President Trump is both hitler and Groucho Marx? If he’s hitler, then he’s not really a joke. And if he’s Marx, why does the left take him so seriously?
The Resistance has been reduced from the hidden arm of the legitimate government to the underdog: you know why? Because Trump won. If killary had won, the landscape of The Last Jedi would undoubtedly be quite different. Hell, our lead characters are “minorities”, and we have a purple-haired SJW leading the Resistance (RJ even goes out of his way to have her make the wrong decisions and yet never be faulted for it, just like how feminists believe women are always right, even when they’re wrong).
And let’s talk about Rose’s stupid line about “saving what you love rather than killing what you hate.” This is absurd both contextually and in the meta narrative: I’ve seen nothing but hatred coming out of the left in the past two or four years, during the presidential run as well as during Trump’s presidency. So this message is detached from the reality, and is honestly worse than “power converters”, “sand…soft and smooth” and every other line from the prequel trilogy!
