Now once upon a time
An old man told me a fable
When the piper is gone
And the soup is cold on your table
And if the black crow flies to find
A new destination, that is the sign

Come tonight
Come to the ogre sight
Come to Ogre Battle fight

He gives a great big cry
And he can swallow up the ocean
With a mighty tongue he catches flies
The palm of his hand is incredible size
One great big eye has a focus in your direction
Now the battle is on

Yeah yeah yeah

Come tonight
Come to the ogre sight
Come to Ogre Battle fight

The ogre men are still inside
The two-way mirror mountain
Gotta keep down right out of sight
You can’t see in but they can see out
“Ooh, keep a look out”
The ogre-men are coming out
From the two-way mirror mountain
They’re running up behind you
And they’re coming all about
Can’t go east ‘cuz you gotta go south

Ogre-men are going home
And the great big fight is over
Bugle blow, the trumpet cry
Ogre Battle lives for ever more!
You can come along
You can come along
Come to Ogre Battle

Queen – Ogre Battle

Does anyone else ever feel like they have PTSD from dating?

Like something totally normal will happen and immediately your brain starts telling you that you’re getting ghosted or they’re over you.

You just get triggered because you’ve been treated so poorly in the past. But it’s probably fine. You just have dating PTSD.

Yes

Now since I’m like 8 out of 10 certain that my blog will be deleted, I’m gonna do a week of Ghost next year. Sorry if this interrupts the seasonal fun and joy: if you’re offended by them, just bear with me. It’s going somewhere.

ultimately if you don’t believe in a God or any supernatural reality i.e. materialism, then you must accept that your and all other moral claims are completely arbitrary, and that you really have no ground to dispute “crimes” like assault, rape, or dishonesty except that you personally do not prefer them.

I really hope that, one day, technology will allow us to dive deep into the counsciousness of others, so deep that it would allow us to understand our fellow human beings’ reasoning.

Because I really don’t understand how you can come to this conclusion. Yes, morality can be objective, in some points.

Personnaly, I like to think that every act can be placed on a “scale” of morality. The only difference among people is where the limit is put. Everybody agree that torturing and murduring a baby (an innocent) is bad. Everybody agree that helping those in need is good.

Based on what though? That’s my point. What are those things based on? What is your point of reference for your scale?

But do people really agree on that? People have in the past committed infanticide and still do today, even claiming that it is the more moral choice. Lots of people harm those in need and firmly believe that their actions are acceptable.

There is no test by which you can prove a moral claim. Untestable claims on objective truth are pretty incompatible with a scientific rationalist worldview.

To claim that objective morality exists, you must acknowledge that something can exist without any physical evidence. Anyone who claims that no god exists because there is no evidence for the existence of a god, yet claims that morality exists, despite there being no physical evidence for morality, is simply hypocritical.

“Everybody agree that torturing and murdering a baby (an innocent) is bad.” And yet we have abortion. We have celebrities boast about how many wonderful abortions that have had.

Theahmost I believe you are wrong about “everybody”
