Why do you think it is that believing in Jesus is the only way to Heaven yet there is no strikingly obvious evidence and it is so hard to figure out what is true? (esp in America, which God knew ahead of time). There’s this advantage to people who grew up in Christian households or environments but for someone who has never seen a positive image of Jesus, they are punished. Its just so hard even for believers to have faith, let alone people who have never heard of God’s love.

john15-10:

God makes himself known to those who never heard of him, so there’s no excuse for those who never heard of Jesus.

Weather it be the person stumbling across a Bible or overhearing a conversation, or a ministry nearby catches their ear.
God makes himself known.

i want to also add that a lot of christians have no consideration for the image they are portraying to the world.

now before you all jump in and start cheering me for “taking @john15-10 down a peg”, that is precisely NOT what i am saying!

what i speak of are the average church-goer who sits in their pews on saturday or sunday morning, then spends the next six days in sin. when they’re called out on this, they immediately say one of several things: either “we’re all sinners”, “i’m a work in progress”, “i’m covered by the blood of jesus and don’t need to obey”, or the answer that personally makes me die inside and lose whatever faith i may have left in humanity and the power of God to change peoples’ lives: “judge not”

the truth is that a christian may be the only view of God that someone may have (especially since christians are abandoning the Bible in droves), and how we are portrayed to the world is always under scrutiny

How do you deal with aggressive anti-vegans? Literally all I have to do is say “I’m vegan” or “No thanks, I don’t eat meat/dairy/animals/etc” when offered something and it sets them off. They’ll start calling me preachy or talking about the “vegan police” when I haven’t even said anything! It’s like just existing as a vegan intimidates them or something? Sometimes someone will ask why I don’t eat animals/dairy/eggs, so I’ll answer, but then they’ll get mad?! It’s just so frustrating.

vegan-yums:

You’re right, it really is just your presence as a vegan that is intimidating to them. Your existence is making them look harder at *their* choices and it makes them uncomfortable because they know it’s wrong deep down but they don’t want to change or don’t know how so it turns to defensiveness even if you’re not being “preachy”. But also – after eight years meat free and six years of being a vegan I don’t give a shit about being preachy. Like ya’ll contributing to some horrendous shit that effects ALL of us including this big beautiful planet we’re on, so, yeah. Those “preachy annoying” vegans are who gave me the kick in the ass to educate myself and here I am, so. Thanks guyz!
Anyways – I got a bit off topic as I usually do. You could try to educate them, or at least call them out (which I would do). Could always just ignore them if it brings you the most peace. Everyone thinks vegans are annoying, omnivores usually take the cake. Say the word vegan and they have a meltdown.
