I’m looking to establish a network of Christians that are committed to prayer for one another and for a semi-public internet space to be open and deeply honest about struggles and fears. “What’s the big difference between a sperm or an egg and a fetus?” A sperm is a single cell containing only DNA from the father. It CANNOT grow into a human being on its own. An egg is a single cell containing DNA only from the mother. It also cannot grow into a human being on its own. When a sperm and an egg unite, a NEW being is formed. The DNA from the father and mother join to form a completely unique person who has everything she will become contained within her at the moment of conception. “Fetus” simply describes a very young human being. Don’t fall into the trap of believing it’s okay to kill her because of her age.
Okay, but what about the mother? What about her age, or the circumstance. Rape, teen pregnancy, anything else? Her life matters too, and so does her choice.

Stop acting like women and children are natural enemies at war. Stop telling women that the only way to heal from traumatic life situations is to murder an innocent human life at the expense of her physical and mental health. Stop telling women that we can only be free if we commit murder.
That’s not empowerment or freedom – that’s manipulation and fearmongering that stunts and reverses the social equity of humankind.

it’s sad the gross double standard and low value we place on life.
if a man kills another man, people say that the death penalty is “too harsh” a punishment and “living should be their punishment.”
but, if a woman has an unplanned pregnancy due to (at best) catching the 1% of protection ineffectiveness or (at worst) sexual assault, then those same people say that the child “deserves to die”
it truly is a sad state humanity has come to when we consider the life of a murderer, who has already killed someone, to have more value than the life of a child, who has not done anything wrong
